Road Trip

Last Thursday, Bradley got the bright idea to go to his deer lease in Abilene. I love spontaneous road trips and since we did not have anything planned for the weekend I decided this was a good idea. Riley was a bit disappointed she was missing the trip since it was her weekend with to be a her dad's. Bradley was excited to finally get me to go to the lease, one of the things I have never done since we have been together. This year he got a new lease that had no camphouse, so I was also able to check out this "wonderful" place he, Tyler and Stephen constructed out of an old carport! I can honestly say, I was actually pretty impressed, although that does not mean I will be a regular visitor. I did have to take over and do a little organizing for them when I got there but that was about all. We checked the game camera's and topped the feeders off with corn, so they guys should be all set for opening weekend... which means shopping for me! (:

GGGOOOOO CUBS!

One of the many things I love about Brenham is the Cubs! I remember how I loved cheering at the football games and the pep-rally's, oh the things we would come up with! I also LOVE how Riley is seeming to follow in these same footsteps. She gets upset if we miss a game and her favorite outfit for school is her Cheer Skirt and Cub shirt!  So of course we went to the homecoming parade last week and boy did my already highly energetic girl get some candy! My mom and I laughed because my little sister Dayne asked to bring a bag and mom said "no", man did we regret that decision! Unfortunately, Riley was not able to make the game because it was her weekend at her Dad's but my good ol' Daddy, my little Sis and I were there to help cheer on the Cubs to victory! And of course I forgot my camera so no pictures from the game but here are a few from the parade (:

Oil Ranch

Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending Riley's class field trip to Oil Ranch in Hockley. I was super excited because this was the first field trip that I have been able to attend. In the past, I was still in school and it never failed when a field trip was planned I always had a test or presentation in a class and HAD to go. So now that I have graduate, field trips here I come! One of the mom's mentioned yesterday that she heard after 2nd grade, it is "not cool" for mom's to go too, but we decided, cool or not we will still go!

I had never heard of this place before and I have to say I was pleased with the outcome. It was the perfect place for their age. We went on a hay ride and fed the cows "cow candy" (range cubes), milked a cow, went on pony rides, took a train ride, fed the animals in the petting zoo, and visited the Indian Village! The kids had a blast! It was so good to see smiles on all their faces all day!
